Stinkin Jims Horse Camp is located in the Tombigbee National Forest in Chickasaw County, Mississippi, near Houston. The Natchez Trace Parkway runs through the Tombigbee National Forest and adjacent to Stinkin Jims.  The Natchez Trace is a national jewel.  The road winds and rolls through some of the prettiest, gentle country imaginable, no heavy traffic and a 50 M.P.H. speed limit, that really gives you a chance to relax and enjoy the view.  It is rare to find a driving trip that can give you such pleasure.  The Parkway runs from Nashville, Tennessee, to Natchez, Mississippi, and it's a treasure trove for history buffs.  Originating in Indian times, it became a well beaten path in the days farmers in the Ohio River Valley would float their goods down the Mississippi to Natchez, sell them along with the flat boats they brought them on, and then ride or walk back home.  You can still ride your horses along some of the trails bordering the Trace, and there are even places you can horse camp.

Stinkin Jims is a private horse camp, run by Donna Schomburg. Stinkin Jims is easy to find and easy to get in.  There is power and water, a choice of pens or pastures and the hosts are a wealth of historical information.  With 90 acres available, Stinkin Jims has lots of room.  There are many national forests in the United States but none more beautiful than the Tombigbee National Forest.  Maybe it's a combination of trees, hardwoods and pines, huge and mysterious, or young and vigorous, whatever it is, the effect is spectacular.  The country gently rolls, the trail twists and turns.  You will not be bored.  Most people visiting this area for the first time are not prepared for the beauty of Mississippi.  Once you visit you will want to come back and explore it again and again.  Riding through the trails in the Tombigbee National Forest is like taking a slow ride through history.

Stinkin Jims has something to offer everyone.  If you can't find fun and excitement at Stinkin Jims then you had better unsaddle your horse and come in out of the sun.  Look at the many things Stinkin Jims has to offer.
